The Wudang Mountains scenic spot received a total of 226,500 tourists during the National Day holiday (Oct 1-7, also known as Golden Week), bringing in tourism revenues of 144 million yuan ($23.47 million), a year-on-year growth of 4.81 percent and 2.39 percent, respectively.

The spot welcomed 46,300 tourists on the peak day on Oct 3. The majority were self-driving tourists from Beijing, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Guangdong, Hunan and the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.

The Wudang Mountains saw booming and orderly tourism development during Golden Week thanks to the staff's efforts on service improvement. They provided a 24-hour hotline to help visitors solve problems, which won acclaim from many tourists.

The promotion of smart tourism in the Wudang Mountains also brought convenience to visitors. The mountains have launched an online ticket platform on Taobao.com to allow visitors to book online tickets.
