Authorities at the Wudang Mountains have been working to upgrade the region’s tourism industry since the beginning of 2014 to promote the scenic spot and improve tourism experiences. The opening of the Wudang Mountains Tmall flagship store is part of its intelligent tourism project.

Since the start of the M-tickets booking service on June 25, the Tmall online store has sold 1,160 tickets as of Aug 28, with total revenue reaching 278,000 yuan ($45,253). Tourism products have become very popular.

The Wudang Mountains special zone has spent two months solving technical problems such as mobile reservation and self-service ticket checking. According to the trial, online booking is much more popular among the post-1980s and the post-1990s generations due to its convenience and speediness.

At present, Wi-Fi signals have covered the parking lots and 14 major scenic spots, including the visitor center and Taiji Lake dock. It is convenient for visitors to enter the garden by scanning the QR code through their mobile phones.
