With a planned opening for passengers in 2015, Wudang Airport construction is in full swing and is due to be completed by year-end, according to the flight procedure and aircraft performance preliminary design reviewing meeting held on April 17, wudangshan.gov.cn reported.

Long Liangwen, a member of the standing committee of CPC Shiyan municipal committee and vice-mayor of Shiyan, attended the meeting. The preliminary flight procedure and the aircraft performance analysis were introduced by the civil aviation new era airport design institute and Beijing Quanshunfu Technology Trade Co Ltd. People in charge of Wudang Airport briefed delegates on the current level of construction.

Civil aviation experts and officials from related departments also indicated that it is necessary to coordinate military and civil aviation, such as flight procedure control, based on the location of Wudang Airport.

Ten projects will be focused on this year, namely earth and stone work, the construction of the terminal building, runway and pavement, freight station, the Air Traffic Control building, and the navigation station, as well as lighting, fire-fighting engineering, communications engineering, hydro electrics and oil feeding systems.

In addition, great efforts will be made to complete the following tasks: to sign significant agreements with relevant companies, to strive for government-approved documents and to purchase sets of equipment.

In 2015, direct air routes will be set up from Wudang to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hainan and other domestic cities. And the future plan is to reach Taiwan, Seoul and other regional destinations.

Currently, the airport is witnessing steady construction, indicating normal monitoring data and going through approval facilities in a timely manner. A tentative cooperation agreement has been achieved between the airport and the China National Aviation Fuel Group.
