Officials of the Wudang Mountains Tourism and Economy Special Region held a meeting on Feb 20 on the construction of Sandao Park in the Tai Chi Lake New Area of the special region, wudangshan.gov.cn reported.

Sandao Park is expected to be a comprehensive experiential ecological tourist resort which integrates tourism, recreational sports, cultural experience, environmental awareness, science popularization, and business conventions.

Construction of the project started in July, and workers have already completed the 1.6-km ring road. Li Faping, vice-mayor of Shiyan city and director of the special region management committee, said at the meeting that the authorities are focusing on Sandao Park as one of this year’s key projects.

Li also said that the venue is expected to boost tourism - especially ecotourism initiatives - in Wudang Mountains, and he called on all relevant departments to enhance their collaboration so as to complete the project in a timely and organized manner.
