Wudang and Xiangyang to cooperate in field of tourism

Representatives from the Xiangyang Municipal Tourism Bureau, Xiangyang Tourism Industry Association and several local tourist attractions recently visited Wudang Mountains scenic area in Shiyan city, central China’s Hubei province, and reached an agreement to join hands in promotional activities to benefit the two sides,wudangshan.gov.cn reported on Dec 10.

The delegation from Xiangyang city visited the Tourism Development Center of the Wudang Mountains Tourism and Economy Special Region, Wudang Museum, Wudang Mountains scenic area and Tai Chi Lake, and representatives of tourist attractions in Xiangyang and Wudang decided to co-organize one or two tourism activities every year.

In addition, a new travel route is expected to promote four tourist attractions, Xiangyang’s Ancient Longzhong, Phoenix Hot Spring and Migong Temple as well as the Wudang Mountains scenic area, so as to combine tourism resources of the two sides, and also to use chartered flights and exploit the Wudang Mountains brand to the fullest.

Xiangyang will also promote the kung fu show “Fantasy Wudang”,which was created by Chen Weiya, assistant director for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, and Zhao Jiping, chairman of the Chinese Musicians Association.

The audience will have the opportunity to enjoy the performances of about ten kung fu champions from around the world as well as several top taijiquan masters.
