A tourism promotion week for Shiyan city, in central China’s Hubei province, will be held during the ninth China (Beijing) International Garden Expo from Sept 23 to 26, and representatives of Wudang Mountains, Shiyan’s main tourist attraction, will seek to further promote the area as a destination for domestic and international visitors, 10yan.com reported.

A billboard in the expo park will show a scene of Wudang, and the promotional initiative includes discounted tickets for travel agencies from Beijing visiting Wudang Mountains and other national 4A or 5A tourist attractions in Shiyan.

Officials of the National Tourism Administration, Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development and Hubei Provincial Tourism Administration are expected to attend the launch ceremony of the Shiyan tourism promotion week.

The event has attracted about 250 participants, including 150 travel agencies, 12 investment organizations in Beijing, and representatives from the Hubei Chamber of Commerce in Beijing.

The promotion week aims to showcase the natural beauty and historical and cultural resources of Shiyan, and to expand its tourist appeal in north China, especially in Beijing.

The ninth China (Beijing) International Garden Expo, which opened on May 18 and will continue until Nov 18 in Beijing’s Fengtai district, has attracted 60 of the Chinese mainland’s cities and districts in addition to Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, as well as cities from 26 countries around the world.
