Hubei delegation visits the strait exchange base

A delegation of Hubei Provincial Committee Taiwan Affairs Office visited the strait exchange base in Wudang Mountains on July 31.

The deputy director of the office, Tu Yangbin, led the delegation, and Shen Xueqiang, vice mayor of Shiyan city, met with the visitors for an informal discussion. Wu Feng, director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of Shiyan city, gave a presentation on the development and future plans concerning the strait exchange base.

On August 1, the delegation visited the Wudang Geology Museum, the planning museum of Wudang Mountains and the Tai Chi Theater.

Tu said that he has high hopes for the future development of this area: “As the origin of Taoist beliefs and Wudang Kungfu, Wudang Mountains is known for its Taoist culture. Given that the Taoist beliefs on both sides of the Taiwan Strait share the same roots, concerning religious culture, architecture music and Kungfu, Wudang Mountains should expect more tourists from Taiwan. I believe that the provincial Taiwan Affairs Office should present Wudang Mountains as a major tourist attraction in future communications with Taiwan.”
