Highway renovated in Mount Wudang scenic area

The highway of the Mount Wudang scenic area, from the gateway to Wuya Mountain, has recently been put under all-round renovation.

The highway, of 25 kilometers long, has many potential safety hazards because of extended service, such as deformed barricades, sunk roadbeds, and damaged road surfaces. They are posing a great threat to safety on the road.

To ensure safety and smooth operation of the road, the local authority has invested 15 million yuan ($2,373,229.97) to renovate the scenic area highway.

In 2012, Mount Wudang will commemorate the 600th anniversary and the highway overhauling is a key project in the province this year. Since March, when the project was kicked off, Mount Wudang special zone highway bureau staff have made full use of every minute and abandoned all holidays to complete the project at the earliest possible date.
