During the May 1 holidays, Mount Wudang was furnished with rich and colorful tourism projects. A mass of tourists were attracted by the pilgrimage tour to the golden summit, burning dragon-head incense at the southern rock, attending-school tour at the Prince Slope, ecological tour at Leisurely Valley, intangible cultural heritage exhibitions at Zixiao and Qingtai, tour in Taiji Lake, and Wudang martial arts performances.

To create a sound environment for tourists, the special zone tourism bureau staff gave up vacations and sent out more personnel to maintain order and offer services at the scenic spots.

The waste convoy put more vehicles in operation to ensure that all waste was accounted for. The cableway company and Taoism Association split the flow of tourists in peak hours to ensure safety and order in the scenic area.

For the three-day May 1 holidays, Mount Wudang received 69,100 tourists, up 4.4 percent year-on-year. They yielded 44.7 million yuan ($7.07 million) in tourism revenues, up 7.5 percent. The tourists mainly came from Hubei and neighboring provinces such as Henan and Shaanxi. More travelers reached from Beijing, Guangdong and Shandong. During the vacation, the scenic area adopted proper measures and thus met no incidents or tourist complaints.
