To develop the Three Kingdoms cultural tourism, Chibi has invested 700 million yuan ($111.5 million) and made a land acquisition of 533.3 hectares to construct a love theme park between Zhou Yu and Xiao Qiao, which will be China's first love theme park.

Zhou Yu was a military general and strategist during the late Han Dynasty period (AD 184-280). Xiao Qiao was a beauty and his wife.

On April 13, a number of experts from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Peking University gathered in Chibi to discuss the facts and legends, culture and customs of the love story of Zhou Yu and Xiao Qiao, and offer advice for the construction of the theme park.

The park will be situated northwest of the ancient War of the Red Cliff battlefield. Based on the historic sites and natural landscapes of Zhoulang Mount, Guogong Temple and Guogong Lake, the Three Kingdoms cultural landscapes will be created with the love story between Zhou Yu and Xiao Qiao as the main theme.
