Wuhan welcomes Japanese tourists

Updated: 2012-04-10

The Hubei Provincial Tourism Administration and the Hubei Provincial Department of Commerce extended an invitation for Japanese tourists to visit Wuhan.

Over ten local tourism enterprises, including the Hubei China Travel Service and China Southern International Travel Company, communicated with the Japanese tourist sector to display local tourism resources.

Wan Xian, an employee of the Wuzu Zen Cultural Tourist Resort in Hubei Huangmei county, claims that tourists come mostly from Southeast Asia and Hong Kong. She hopes more Japanese tourists will experience Zen culture.

Hubei province reportedly received 250,000 Japanese tourists last year. The province has seen explosive growth of Japanese tourists since the launching of direct flights between Wuhan and Tokyo in August 2011.
