Tourists pray for Wudang Mountain blessings

The Temple Fair of Wudang Mountain was held on March 24 (March 3 according to Chinese lunar calendar) every year.

March 3 in the Chinese lunar calendar is reportedly the birthday of the Taoist immortal, Zhen Wu, and the pilgrimage day for Taoists. Legends surrounding Zhen have shaped Wudang culture as much as its geology has shaped the surrounding topography.

On the morning of March 24, many tourists swarmed ticket booths at the “Gold and Silver Street” of Wudang Mountains. Wudang Mountains hosted 33,851 tourists throughout the day and earned 16, 925,500 yuan, a record-breaking increase of 60.05 percent and 54 percent respectively. Tourists from at home and abroad gathered at the temple fair of to pray for blessings.
