Wudang thriving and prosperous

Updated: 2012-01-29

The Forbidden City was built in the north of China 600 years ago. At the same time, Wudang was being built in the south of China, the beginning of what was to become a glorious city. Zhang Sanfeng, a semi-mythical Taoist master, predicted that Wudang would one day be thriving and prosperous.

After 600 years, the cross-century project "South-North Water Diversion Project" was completed and Wudang is now experiencing a second rejuvenation.

At present, Wudang Special Economic Zone is developing under the guidance of the municipal government. Wudang will continue to adhere to the guiding principles of "proper preservation, reasonable utilization, scientific planning and strict management".

Wudang will seize the opportunities of "constructing cultural ecological tourism zone in the north of Hubei province" and "making tourism the second pillar industry".

Wudang has planned to build a scenic zone on the base of "Taichi Lake cultural ecological tourism zone".

Wudang is taking a big step forward in development, which will play an important role for its future.
