The signing ceremony of Legends of Taiji, a visually stunning landscape performance, was held in Beijng on Dec 6 between Wudang administrations and a Hollywood top production group. News media representatives as well as economic and cultural delegations from both countries attended.

Officials said the event was, "a bold exploration combining traditional culture and tourism in the construction of a world-class scenic zone".

The performance includes a profound historical review of the holy birthplace of Wudang Taiji and represents the Chinese traditional harmonious value as a cultural spirit.

Combined with the most advanced techniques from Hollywood, the performance explains Chinese culture through audio and visual means. It is expected to become a magnificent work and will hold a symbolic status in the world.

"The program is an innovative endeavor that further promotes the global influence of the ancient Taiji culture," said Zhang Tong, vice-governor of the Hubei Province. He also hoped Wudang administrations would use the opportunity of cultural prosperity to turn the Wudang tourism zone into a modern and professional model.

Antonio Villaraigosa, mayor of Los Angeles, thought highly of Wudang’s ecological culture tourism development prospects and looked for further cooperation between the two parties.

The Taiji tourist spot covers an area of five square kilometers with an investment of 2.2 billion yuan ($347 million). It includes a series of projects such as Legend of Taiji, Kongfu town, Taiji museum and Taiji School.
