A national preservation and research center for Wudang taiyi wuxing boxing and Wudang martial arts, which are part of the cultural heritage, opened on July 6, 2011.

The opening ceremony was held at the Jingle Palace, in the city of Danjiangkou, close to Wudang Mountain. More than 300 martial arts masters and fans from all over the country took part and joined discussions on preserving taiyi wuxing boxing.

Taiyi wuxing boxing is one of the most traditional of the Wudang wushu shools and is based on an understanding of human nature and the principles of traditional Chinese medicine theories, resulting in a good way to keep fit and practice self-defense.
