A series of comic books named Mount Wutai is under publication and the work will be completed soon, its editorial committee announced on March 28.

The book aims to introduce the diverse culture, rich history, and splendid landscapes of Mount Wutai, one of China's four famous Buddhist mountains. It consists of four parts – temple stories, biographies, myths and revolutionary relics. The book will be published by the Shanxi People's Publishing House and a set of the books will have 10 volumes.

Shi Changshan, head of the Buddhist Association of Mount Wutai was appointed as director of the editorial committee. Shi said that the book will serve as a new way to promote Mount Wutai's tourism and culture. When it is published, the book may be the best souvenir for visitors.

The head of Buddhist Association added that the first set of the books will be released at the end of August this year.

Located in North China's Shanxi province, Mount Wutai is known for its Buddhist culture. It is regarded as home to the Bodhisattva of wisdom, Manjusri or Wenshu in Chinese. It has been recognized as a World Heritage site for its cultural landscape by UNESCO in 2009.
