Gaoqing paper-cuttings attract foreign visitors

A group of French visitors toured Gaoqing county in East China’s Shandong province on June 11. They came to experience paper cutting art from two inheritors of the intangible cultural heritage, Chen Yuejun and Han Chengshan.

With a pair of scissors and a piece of paper, a vivid paper-cutting art work was soon created by the inheritors. Foreigners were fascinated by their amazing skills. They took group photos with the two masters and received gifts of art works.
Gaoqing paper cutting originates from Gaoqing county. The county has struggled to pass down the folk art in recent years. However, in a stroke of fortune, the art form made the list of Zibo intangible cultural heritage in 2014, strengthening its preservation.
