POWERCHINA contributes to the Belt and Road construction
As a well-known enterprise in China's overseas power stations construction, POWERCHINA is constantly contributing to the Belt and Road construction relying on the integration advantages of the entire industry chain.
At present, POWERCHINA's overseas investment has spread to more than 10 regions in South Asia, Southeast Asia, Australia, and Africa. As of Dec 21, 2018, the annual power generation of POWERCHINA's overseas power stations exceeded 10 billion kilowatt-hours.
In Nepal, the Upper Marsyangdi A Hydropower Station built by POWERCHINA contributed 9.23 percent of electricity to the country, making its capital Kathmandu completely free from power supply control.
The project also serves as a model for China-Nepal cooperation. It appeared in the 2019 New Year calendar published by the Chinese Embassy in Nepal as a beautiful background.
In recent years, POWERCHINA has successfully promoted 32 subsidiaries in various fields to carry out overseas business, accumulating 31 billion yuan ($4.39 billion) in engineering contracts and driving about 650 sets of equipment exports.
Through business models of BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer), BOOT (Build-Own-Operate-Transfer), and IPP (Industry-Public-Private), POWERCHINA has worked on the Belt and Road market, expanding the layout of the international market with hydropower, thermal power, wind power, and solar power solutions.
During the construction of projects, POWERCHINA also stabilized its own operations while contributing to local economic and social development. Through technical training and selection of international students, it has shared China's advanced technology and experience.
