Latin American media praises POWERCHINA
Diario Extra, a newspaper in Costa Rica, published an article titled "The Chinese improve Costa Rican national infrastructure" on June 22, giving high praise to the Chucas Hydropower Station built by POWERCHINA.
The newspaper article detailed the fulfillment of social responsibility by POWERCHINA in the process of engineering construction in Latin America.

The article noted that the Chucas Hydropower Station is the first project of POWERCHINA's obtained through public bidding in Latin America, and also the first project successfully built by POWERCHINA in Costa Rica. It was built over a 30-month period and currently has an installed capacity of 50 megawatts (MW).
During the construction of the project, the newspaper detailed how POWERCHINA consistently attached great importance to its corporate social responsibility, providing residents in the project area with the infrastructure of drinking water systems, roads, and bridges, as well as also sending candy to the children of the area's school during festivals.
On May 22, 14 reporters from 13 Latin American countries visited the company and conducted interviews regarding POWERCHINA's development in the Americas, as well as its major projects and corporate social responsibility activities.
