POWERCHINA fulfills social responsibility to spread company image

Since the construction of the Laos Nam Ou River Cascade hydropower project, POWERCHINA has fulfilled its social responsibilities, providing benefits to local residents through its own development.

Through the construction site class, as well as management and practical training, POWERCHINA has improved the local staff's labor skills, promoting local social and economic development.

In terms of cultivating local talents, POWERCHINA provided support for the observation and learning activities organized by local universities. It selected 18 students from Laos to study at Wuhan University in China, as well as established school-enterprise cooperation with local universities to receive interns.

"Chinese-funded enterprises have good treatment and high management levels. I can learn true skills in them," said a Lao employee.

The company protects Lao employees' legitimate rights and interests. Every time the Laos holiday comes, the company will reasonably arrange their normal holiday. During the Laos New Year period, it also actively organizes various activities, and the employees from China and Laos will gather together to welcome the new year of Laos.

From July to August each year, POWERCHINA will organize its project departments to participate in the local fish-releasing ceremony, protecting the aquatic resources of the Nam Ou River and promoting the sustainable development of the river basin economy.
