POWERCHINA, a most memorable working experience
"I really appreciate being able to join POWERCHINA. The past year has been the most memorable one of my life," said Amen, a Sudanese engineer who works for POWERCHINA.
In March 2017, 28-year-old Amen joined the construction of the Shaybah project in Saudi Arabia, built by POWERCHINA Nuclear Engineering Company.
Before joining POWERCHINA, Amen was already a civil engineer with four years of experience in Saudi Arabia. "I joined the POWERCHINA for only one year, but I got something that I couldn't have learned working in another company for 10 years," he said.
As the project progressed, there were numerous design defects and technical gaps in the lighting work, and the serious shortage of on-site technicians had led to slow progress in the field work. Amen quickly entered into the role of an electrical engineer, allowing the field work to proceed in an orderly manner.
The Shaybah project is the first overseas high-end EPC project undertaken by the company. While working toward the construction of the Belt and Road, POWERCHINA will grow together with local communities in the countries and regions along the Belt and Road with the projects they are taking on.
