Belt and Road drives POWERCHINA power project in Egypt
The Samanoud-Banha transmission line of Egypt's EETC 500kV Transmission Lines Project (EETC Project), undertaken by POWERCHINA Hubei Engineering Co, recently completed construction.
The 80-km line started construction in 2017, consisting of double circuit lines installed on a single tower with a four-split design.
The project was difficult to construct because of its complicated landscape and terrain, such as rivers, railways, highways, roads, farmlands, gardens, and existing high-voltage lines.
During the construction process, the project department focused on security and quality, strictly controlling safe and high-quality construction, mapping out plans, and detailing arrangements.
As the second 500kV transmission line by Hubei Engineering Co Ltd in Egypt, the Samanoud-Banha project has helped the Hubei company promote its image around the world and laid a solid foundation for the company to cooperate with other enterprises.
The EETC Project is the first cooperative project on power production between China and Egypt under the Belt and Road Initiative, with the signing agreement attended by leaders of the two countries in 2016.
