POWERCHINA boosts Central, West Africa infrastructure construction

Updated: 2019-04-17 15:23

Power Construction Corporation of China (POWERCHINA), a developed hydropower construction company in China, is expected to expand its businesses in 26 countries in Central and West Africa, since it unveiled its regional headquarters in Cote d'ivoire. It aims to boost infrastructure construction in Central and West Africa and promote cooperation between China and countries in the region.

Cote d'ivoire boasts unique geographical advantages, a stable political situation, and positive economic momentum, which will promote the Chinese cooperation with African countries, according to POWERCHINA.

Based on the local realities that many countries in Central and West Africa are bearing debts, POWERCHINA has worked out the "Troika" business model, which means integrating project investment, bidding, and financing.

In addition, POWERCHINA's regional headquarters has been working hard to track and promote key projects in Central and West African countries such as Cameroon, Nigeria, and Cote d'ivoire. As a result, it has reached agreements with several countries on nearly 30 key projects concerning photovoltaic investment, hydropower, thermal power, and infrastructure.

POWERCHINA, as a leading Chinese enterprise in implementing the "going out" strategy of working on international projects, has provided services for more than 50 African countries over the past 60 years. Its business scope has expanded from foreign aid construction to various levels of participation in African economic and infrastructural construction, such as project financing and management.

With the development of the Belt and Road Initiative, POWERCHINA is devoted to carrying out its "global development strategy" by making full use of its advantages in water conservancy and electric power, as well as promoting international management and services, in order to take part in Chinese cooperation with other countries.
