POWERCHINA enhances brand image in Americas market

Yan Zhiyong, chairman of Power Construction Corporation of China (POWERCHINA), hosted a symposium on member enterprises in the Americas region, and attended business activities in Panama in order to boost market operation in the region on Dec 4, 2018.

Prior to the symposium, he also participated in the China-Panama Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum.

Attendees of the symposium gave reports regarding the management of POWERCHINA Americas and also discussed the problems and solutions of their businesses in the Americas.

During the symposium, Yan Zhiyong expressed appreciation for the progress that the POWERCHINA Americas headquarter has made, and put forward requirements regarding the branch's future development. The symposium of POWERCHINA Americas discuss ways to develop business opportunities.

Yan said the Americas headquarters should further study the regional market and push forward business opportunities through advanced technology, good quality, risk control, benefit guarantees, and open cooperation.

He added that the company needed to handle its relationship with the Americas well in terms of the local environment and communities during the implementation of projects. Additionally, more attention should be paid to the risks controls and to young employees' career plans, he said.

During Yan's stay in Panama, he also met with Gilbert Ferrari, general manager of Panama Transmission Corporation, and exchanged views on key projects cooperation with counterparts.

According to the strategies of POWERCHINA, the company is improving its business layout in Latin America, building its Americas headquarters in Panama, and expanding its business scale in Latin America, mainly in Mexico, Bolivia, Peru, and Argentina.

To achieve sustainable development, the company is exploring new business model while still adhering to high quality standards in its traditional engineering, procurement, and construction services.
