The project will not only be the largest installed PV power plant in Vietnam, but also in the entire Southeast Asia region.

It is also the largest overseas EPC photovoltaic solar power project contracted by a Chinese company under the Belt and Road Initiative.

The contract is a product of POWERCHINA's active efforts in Vietnam's new energy market. It is a key project to help Vietnam implement its energy structure as a national policy and also a milestone in driving the development of new energy markets in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.

Since POWERCHINA entered the Vietnamese market in 2000, it has successfully implemented 56 projects in the country with a contract value of over $1.5 billion.

The company has participated in more than 60 percent of Vietnam's power projects, including the Son La Hydropower Plant, which is the largest hydropower station in Vietnam, the Trung Son Hydropower Project, which is supported by the World Bank, and the Fuhlen Wind Power Plant, which is Vietnam's first demonstration wind power project.

All the projects have achieved good performance and have been well received by local governments and all parties.
