POWERCHINA prepares for Middle East and North Africa market expanding
POWERCHINA's Middle East and North Africa regional headquarters in Dubai held its 2019 work conference from March 3-4.
A total of 108 people, including team members of the regional headquarters, members of the Party working committee, financial leaders, as well as department heads and representatives of group member companies, attended the meeting.
Wu Wenhao, deputy general manager of POWERCHINA and the regional headquarters, conveyed the working union of the group company and international companies in the work report.
He analyzed the market operations, performance, safety production, and Party building of the regional headquarters in the past year, and fully deployed the comprehensive work plan for 2019.
Tan Li, acting consul general of China's consulate in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), attended the conference and made a speech.
She praised the regional headquarters' overall achievements in the UAE and the Middle East, and spoke highly of POWERCHINA's innovative approaches and its contributions made to serve the national Belt and Road Initiative.
She also presented a report based on the international situation and the economic development of the UAE. She encouraged everyone to carry forward the spirit of hard work, responsibility, and innovation in making persistent efforts to create success.
Gao Fei, assistant to the general manager of POWERCHINA and deputy general manager of the regional headquarters, reported on the market situation of the regional headquarters, analyzed local markets by region and by industry, and arranged the key work for market development in 2019.
Heads of the five sub-regional centers of the regional headquarters presented special reports.
Four member enterprises including SEPCO Electric Power Construction Co, SPECO III, Huadong Engineering Co, and Sinohydro Bureau 3 made speeches on themes covering localization development, the project implementation of Jazan power plant in Saudi Arabia, new energy trends, and the experience of the CP1 project.
The conference commended the advanced workers of member enterprises who have performed outstanding work in project implementation and market development in the region in 2018.
At the conference, local consulting companies were also invited to conduct training on contract management issues and to introduce common problems and risk response strategies during the project implementation phase.
Wu said in his concluding remarks that all member companies should follow POWERCHINA's "three-step" strategy, seize opportunities, make up for shortcomings, make bold innovations, and to consistently emphasize localization in their work.
He stressed that all parties should make full use of their joint efforts, build consensus, work hard, and pay tribute to the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China with outstanding achievements.
