Song Dongsheng, general manager of POWERCHINA International Group and director of INES, said that new energy is rapidly surpassing conventional energy. Renewable low-carbon clean energy, distributed energy and smart grids represent the future of power development. However, more research, development and technological innovation needs to be done for new energy sources such as off-grid photovoltaic and energy storage.

The enterprises are expected to pool their resources to develop overseas new energy markets. POWERCHINA International Group is looking to serve as a model for the development of INES, he added.

The meeting also reviewed and approved POWERCHINA Huadong Engineering Co and POWERCHINA Jiangxi Electric Power Construction Co as new members of INES.

Established in July 2017, INES has taken advantage of the resource integration strengths of the INES industrial chain and actively participated in the construction of global new energy and power. The strategy has proven effective, and INES has signed 3GW of overseas new energy projects and 5GW of reserve projects.

INES is becoming more and more influential. It has become an important facilitator for the globalization of Chinese new energy companies and will provide necessary support for POWERCHINA in its development of overseas new energy projects.
