Joint venture agreement signed for Chittagram project

PowerChina's subsidiary China Huadian Hong Kong Co Ltd and Bangladesh Power Development Bureau (BPDB) held a signing ceremony for a 1.32 million kW coal-fired power station project in Chittagram.

According to the agreement, Huadian and BPDB will jointly develop the project in accordance with the BOO (Building-Ownership-Management) model, each holding shares of 50 percent.

The project plans to build two 660,000kW ultra-supercritical units with a total installed capacity of 1.32 million kW on the Masheshkhali Penisula in Bangladesh, which the government plans to develop into an energy island.
