POWERCHINA's project in Bangladesh attracts attention from local government
A delegation led by Md.Sarwar Hossain, executive engineer of Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB), visited the project site of Barisal coal-fired power plant in Bangladesh, a project undertaken by POWERCHINA, on Oct 19.
After being introduced with the project's design, purchasing, financing, contract signing and construction progress, Hossain expressed satisfaction with the construction work, adding that the power sector is a key industry supported by Bangladesh government and POWERCHINA enjoys strong technology strength and high reputation. He wished that POWERCHINA will exert its advantage in electric power and build a modern power station to benefit Bangladesh people and drive the local economic growth. Besides, Hossain vowed continuous support to the project.
The inspection aimed to intensify regular management to build the plant into a model for overseas projects and boost Sino-Bangladesh friendship.
The Bangladesh Power Development Board, part of the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources of Bangladesh, is committed to delivering sustainable quality power and securing continuous growth of electricity for sustainable development.
