POWERCHINA signs agreement with Andritz Group

Austria's Andritz Group and POWERCHINA signed a cooperation agreement at the 2018 Bo'ao Forum for Asia Annual Conference in South China's Hainan province on April 8, witnessed by Alexander Van der Bellen, President of Austria, and Sebastian Kurz, Chancellor of Austria, who led a national delegation to the forum.

Before the signing ceremony, Sun Hongshui, general manager of POWERCHINA, had a friendly dialogue with Austrian Chancellor Kurz.

Sun talked about POWERCHINA's global business and its close ties with Austrian enterprises including Andritz Group in previous years. Acknowledging Andritz Group as the world's largest manufacturer and service provider of hydroelectric generating sets, Sun believed the signing of the agreement would lead to another meaningful collaboration between the two parties and that plenty of opportunities lay ahead.

Kurz thanked POWERCHINA for its contribution to the Austrian economy and was delighted to witness the cooperation between Austrian enterprises and POWERCHINA. Andritz Group is a famous company in Austria and leads the world in hydroelectric technologies, whereas POWERCHINA is the world's largest electric power construction contractor; the bilateral cooperation has bright prospects and should be strengthened, said Kurz.

Sun also talked with Wolfgang Leitner, president and CEO of Andritz Group. Both parties agreed to further boost communication and cooperation.
