China-Pakistan media forum highlights POWERCHINA

POWERCHINA made an eye-catching presentation at the China-Pakistan Media Forum that underlined the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a flagship project under the Belt and Road Initiative, in Beijing on April 17.

Themed on the Belt and Road Initiative and a Shared Future for China and Pakistan, the media forum was co-hosted by China's Guangming Daily, Pakistan's Jang Media Group and All Pakistan Newspapers Association.

Important attendants included Chinese directors of relevant departments, mainstream media from both countries and representatives of China-invested enterprises.

Zhang Zheng, chief editor of Guangming Daily, suggested that media outlets should serve as communicators, builders and contributors for the cause of the CPEC project.

"Let us witness, experience, record and spread the great tale about the common future of China and Pakistan," said Zhang in his keynote speech.

On behalf of all the Chinese forces engaged in the construction of CPEC, POWERCHINA shared its experience in building the Port Qasim Coal-fired Power Plant, the first and foremost unit of CPEC.

The giant power plant has been alleviating Pakistan's power shortfall by about 20 percent, rebooting paralyzed local industries and offering plentiful job opportunities.

Media representatives from Pakistan appreciated the remarkable efforts of POWERCHINA and acknowledged its momentous role in creating a shared community for Pakistan and China.
