Officials led by Kenyan Vice-president William Ruto visited the Kenya Rural Highway 163 Project contracted by a subsidiary of POWERCHINA on April 6.

Ruto inspected the construction site and learned about the quality and safety conditions of the project. After listening to relevant reports, he expressed his appreciation for the company's construction progress and affirmed its efforts on localization. He also had a cordial conversation with supervision engineers and local employees.

Ruto's visit and guidance will inspire staff morale and promote the project department to finish construction with good quality and on time.

The Kenya Rural Highway 163 Project located in Kirinjaga county in central Kenya is an important part of the country's 10,000-kilometer rural road project.

It is divided into two sections, namely 163A and 163B. The 163A section is 34 kilometers long and the 163B section is 35 kilometers long. The width of the main road is six meters. The road shoulder on both sides is 0.5 meters high.

So far, the double surface layer of the 163A section has completed 11.5 kilometers, and 163B section has completed 20 kilometers. The project will help improve local residents' travel capabilities, ease inconvenient transportation, promote the local economy and improve people's livelihoods.

Since the construction started, the project department has fulfilled its social responsibilities as a Chinese company. It employed local workers and actively carried out localization construction, which boosted the brand influence of POWERCHINA in central Kenya.
