A delegation led by POWERCHINA's Vice General Manager Wang Bin went to Turin, Italy in person to celebrate the successful acquisition of Geodata, a world-famous Italian design consultancy, on Sept 19-24.

Founded in 1984, Geodata is an industrial leader in underground engineering and technology and railway traffic engineering design and consulting. It handles design, consultation, supervision, research, and assessment for subway, railway, highway, and water conservancy engineering projects in Europe, Asia and the Americas.

Two subsidiaries of POWERCHINA – Northwest Engineering Co Ltd and POWERCHINA International Group Ltd – partnered up for joint control of the company this past July.

Some 150 local government officials and representatives of the industry, including Turin's mayor, Chiara Appendino, attended the celebrating ceremony.

“We share the same vision of tapping into the global transportation engineering market, and I believe our cooperation will boost mutual development,” Wang commented at the ceremony.

After the ceremony, the delegation visited Geodata's offices and their staff and inspected its projects, including the Loetschberg rail tunnel (Lyon-Turin section) and Catania city subway. Wang also hosted a meeting to arrange future management work.
