More than 28.55 million tourists visited Southwest China's Guizhou province during the week long National Day holiday, which ended on Oct 7, a year-on-year increase of 23.91 percent, bringing in tourism revenue of 43.41 billion yuan ($6.08 billion), up 30.69 percent year-on-year.
The province launched a total of 245 new tourism products and projects focusing on mountain and outdoor activities, red culture, rural leisure, as well as intangible cultural heritages during the holiday. A series of activities celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China created a festive mood and atmosphere for tourists.

Red tourism, or revolutionary-themed tourism, has become a highlight of Guizhou's tourism offerings. Tucheng ancient town in Xishui county, a historical site where the Red Army crossed the Chishui River four times, recreated the historical scene through gunfire effects and live performances.
In addition, rural tourism was favored by visitors. Bonfire parties, camping, long-table banquets, and visits to hot springs were popular activities in Guizhou during the National Day holiday.

Sixty major tourist attractions in the province received approximately 84 million visitors, generating 173 million yuan in ticket sales. A total of 33 scenic spots received more than 100,000 tourists during the week long holiday.
Statistics showed that the domestic tourist satisfaction index of the province was 85.02 during the National Day holiday, 0.25 points higher than the same period last year.
