More than 13.95 million tourists visited Southwest China's Guizhou province during this year's three-day Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, which started on Sept 13, a year-on-year growth of 24.94 percent, bringing in 9.23 billion yuan ($1.31 billion) of tourism revenue, up 25.89 percent year-on-year, according to statistics released by the Guizhou Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism on Sept 15.
Many events that integrated tourism and culture were held during the holiday, including several activities of the 2019 Colorful Guizhou Culture and Art Festival, lantern fairs, painting and calligraphy exhibitions, as well as photography exhibitions.

With the improvement of highway networks, self-driving has become the first choice for many families travelling to neighboring cities or provinces. In addition to its well-known holiday resorts, scenic spots surrounding cities and counties in Guizhou gained popularity during the three-day holiday. The scenic spot of Zhusha ancient town in Tongren received more than 30,000 tourists. Five important scenic spots in Xishui county received 105,000 tourists.
Several artistic activities with the theme of reunion and harmony, including a symphony concert, an arts variety show, a square dancing competition, and a bonfire party were held to attract tourists.
