An event for promoting reading as a lifestyle was held in Qingzhen, Guizhou province on April 23, which fell on the 24th World Book Day.
During the event, 16 Guizhou residents were awarded as representatives from "family of scholars" for their good habit of reading.

Some of the representatives also shared their views on several classic books with the audience, including Ouyang Qiansen, president of the Guizhou Writers Association, and Ma Chen, famed pianist and composer.

The event was held by several reading and culture authorities across Guizhou, including the leading group of a reading-for-all activity in Guizhou and the publicity department of the Qingzhen CPC committee.
