Orders increase during the global tea expo in Guizhou

The 11th Global Tea Culture Festival and Tea Expo was held in Zunyi, Southwest China's Guizhou province from April 19 to 20, attracting over 1,000 representatives involved in the tea industry from all over the world to attend.

During the expo, 28 projects involving the tea industry were signed, worth over 5.98 billion yuan ($981.02 million).

The exhibition area covered 4,500 square meters with 100 companies involved in tea from home and abroad exhibiting well-known kinds of tea, making the expo larger than previous ones.

The expo also set up an experience center for the online tea expo, which was equipped with seven dancing robots to perform and two smart robots to answer questions concerning tea and the tea expo.

The online tea expo has been held for three years and with 300 new companies attending this year, the sales volume is estimated to reach 50 million yuan.

The China Tea Marketing Association along with tea associations from India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and Japan, as well as the Solidaridad Network, an international civil society organization, established the Asia Tea Alliance to promote worldwide tea production and consumption.

In recent years, Guizhou has strived to make a name for Guizhou tea and has achieved rapid development in its tea industry and culture. In 2018, the area of Guizhou's tea gardens reached 7 million mu (466,666.67 hectares) with an output of 362,000 tons worth over 39.4 billion yuan.
