The 4th National Guitar Teaching Seminar kicked off in Zheng'an county, southwest China's Guizhou province, on April 9. The seminar brought together some of the world's leading guitarists and experts to discuss the creation, performance, teaching, and production of classic guitars in the form of concerts, training courses, lectures, and themed forums.
Austrian guitarist Marco Tamayo gave a lecture with the theme on the analysis of different guitar skills after the opening ceremony. He will also hold a guitar concert with Spanish guitarist Anabel Montesinos in the next few days.
For the purpose of promoting scientific and advanced guitar teaching concepts, the seminar will deepen the cooperation between professional guitar colleges and guitar training bases all over China, making positive contributions to the cultivation of high-quality guitarists.

"Zheng'an is home to the nation's largest guitar production center and has the world's largest guitar industrial park. In recent years, the county has made remarkable achievements in guitar production," said Deng Zhaotao, Party secretary of Zheng'an county. "The seminar will promote the overall development of the local guitar industry and also bring a major effect on China's construction of its guitar culture."
With the help of advantageous transportation and favorable policies, the county has attracted a number of guitar manufacturing companies and supporting enterprises. To date, the county's International Guitar Industry Park has 37 guitar manufacturing companies and 17 supporting enterprises, with a total investment of 6.2 billion yuan ($923.2 million). Last year, the county produced and sold six million guitars worth about 6 billion yuan.
Companies in Zheng'an International Guitar Industry Park mainly produce guitars for famous brands like America's Fender, Japan's Ibanez and Brazil's Tagima. These guitars are exported overseas to more than 30 foreign countries and regions. In addition, these companies have also developed 50 independent brands.
Over the next few years, Zheng'an plans to establish a world-famous guitar production cluster, promoting the mutual development of the guitar industry, guitar culture, and guitar tourism.
