The Guizhou Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government have made education a developmental priority. Every year, six percent of administrative funds go toward improving education.
From 2014 to the end of 2018, Guizhou invested a total of 60.34 billion yuan ($9 billion) in compulsory education, adding 1.318 million new available spots for students, more than 61.8 million new books, and more than 408,000 new computers.
Guizhou has also established a mechanism to guarantee funding for compulsory education, which is uniform across urban and rural areas and apportioned by all levels of government.
