According to Meng, ecological development is entering a critical period. China is capable of creating a better environment for the people and solving longstanding issues in environmental protection.
The establishment of a "national ecological day" could encourage more people to get involved in environmental protection and make ecological development a task for all of society.
In addition, the "national ecological day" would help enhance education and awareness of environmental protection, leading to a new era of ecological development.
