Li Sanqi, secretary of the Party group of the Guizhou Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, praised the development of Guizhou's tourism industry during an interview of the Guizhou delegation to the annual two sessions held in Beijing on March 9.
Over the past two years, Guizhou has developed skiing and hot springs into tourist attractions, turning winter into another peak tourism season, said Li.

"Throughout the 2019 Spring Festival (Feb 4-11), 29 scenic spots in Guizhou received over 10,000 daily visitors and four scenic spots had to implement a system to limit ticket sales," Li said.
Developing eco-tourism is an essential part of developing Guizhou's tourism industry and increasing incomes for people of all ethnic groups, Li added.
Through the development of the tourism industry, Guizhou has managed to lift 897,000 people out of poverty.
