Big data should further its smart monitoring on food safety as simple monitoring methods cannot meet the current safety requirements, said Sun Chengyi, a member of the Guizhou delegation to the second session of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

In his proposal, Sun suggested a unified information system be built, the smart monitoring system be improved, and an open and sharing governance be shaped.

The unified information system will help data integration at all levels allowing an online approval procedure to be fully carried out. Based on the "Internet Plus Risk Warning," an effective emergency-response system will be put into operation, Sun said.

Various sensors should be used instead of human labor work and an "Internet Plus Origin Tracking" system should be built to shape a network for growing, feeding, production, businesses, and restaurants, he added.

In regards to open and sharing governance, Sun said that a profile electronic management network be developed to expand public monitor channels so as to further public monitoring functions.
