Yuan Zhou, deputy of the Guizhou delegation to the 13th National People's Congress (NPC), said that there is great potential for Guizhou's green industry to continue its development on March 5, while reviewing the Government Work Report that was delivered by Premier Li Keqiang at the opening of the second session of the NPC.
Yuan disclosed that the "two 10s" are the key for the province's potential development, which means that there will be 10 industrial clusters worth above 100 billion yuan ($14.90 billion) and 10 agricultural pillar industries springing up in Guizhou.
As the deputy secretary of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guizhou Committee, Yuan expressed his full support for the "two 10s" proposed by the Guizhou government and believed that the strategy will stimulate the province's economic transformation and green development.
In recent years, Guizhou has shut down 74 mines and relieved their productivity by 1,038 metric tons, helping enterprises save costs of more than 50 billion yuan. It has also launched technological transformation for 1,688 enterprises and introduced more than 1,100 businesses with high technology and promising development.
Currently, Guizhou is home to two national engineering technology research centers and more than 1,000 high-tech enterprises. In 2018, its online retail sales grew by 30 percent and the added value for its tertiary industry increased by 9.5 percent.
