When reviewing the Government Work Report on March 5, Yuan Changxuan, a Guizhou deputy to the 13th National People's Congress (NPC) suggested that the country increase its diversified policy support for the development of the oil-seed camellia industry.
Tea oil is a kind of green, environmentally friendly, and organic edible oil. The oil-seed camellia industry has environmental, economic, and social benefits, said Yuan, who is also the director of the forestry science and technology extension station of Tianzhu county, Guizhou province.

"I hope the country will provide strong policy support for science and technology, planting services, marketing, and more," Yuan added.
He hoped the Party Committee and government would give special attention to the oil-seed camellia industry and provide it with a platform for entering high-end markets and going global.
