On March 4, Song Bao'an, a deputy to the 13th National People's Congress (NPC) praised the development of Guizhou's tea industry.
"My habit is to get up early in the morning to drink a cup of Maojian tea, and then start a day's work," said Song, who is also an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and president of Guizhou University.

In 2011, Song started to participate in the construction and development of Guizhou's tea industry as an expert in pesticide science.
He led his team to test tea samples, carry out research on tea pest control, and build a tea green prevention and control experiment demonstration base.
"Duyun Maojian tea is my favorite," Song said. "More importantly, Guizhou tea is clean as it is produced and processed according to EU standards."
"With the continuous innovation of technologies on environmental protection, Guizhou tea will get further development," Song added.
