The Eco Forum Global Guiyang Annual Conference 2018 will be held in Guiyang from July 6 to 8. In order to provide better services, volunteer training sessions began on June 10, with 500 volunteers attending.
More than 3,000 people have signed up since volunteer recruitment was launched by the organizing committee and the Guiyang Communist Youth League. According to demand, a total of 500 volunteers were enrolled after undergoing a strict selection process.
The offline training courses will be held at Guizhou University of Finance and Economics, the Guiyang International Eco-conference Center and the Guiyang International Conference and Exhibition Center. Experts will give a series of training courses covering voluntary service knowledge and etiquette, knowledge of emergency avoidance, knowledge of ecological civilization, and English.
Volunteers will also complete online exercises to stay informed about the event and pass several assessments. Previous volunteers will also share their experiences.
The event has been held every year since 2013. This year's three-day Eco Forum Global includes one opening ceremony, five summits, 10 symposiums and several special activities.
The event provides an international platform for the ecological construction of Guizhou province. At present, there are four United Nations agencies, three embassies in China and 17 well-known international organizations planning to participate in the event.
