In recent years, Southwest China's Guizhou province has been making efforts to increase rural incomes through good use of local ecological environments. Its efforts have shown that lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets.

In Dewang village of Jiangkou county, the high-quality water has led companies to breed cold-water fish that bears higher value than normal fish. Jiang Zhiguo, deputy chief of Dewang county, said that each rural household can earn about 30,000 yuan ($4,711.3) each year.
