According to Mu, electronic information manufacturing industry has become the second major growth point of Guizhou's industrial economy. Over the past five years, the income of software and information technology services and the value added of the electronic information industry saw an annual growth rate of 28.5 percent and 62 percent, respectively.

The China International Big Data Industry Expo, held once a year in Guiyang, has transformed from a small regional gathering into a national event which promotes the exchange of ideas among experts, companies and entrepreneurs worldwide.

Meanwhile, 122 of the top 500 enterprises in the world, including Apple, Huawei, Qualcomm, Microsoft and Alibaba, have come to Guizhou to establish big data centers. The province is ramping up its efforts to become China's big data valley and a new center for innovation.

With the development of big data, the Guizhou economy has improved significantly. Last year, Guizhou's annual regional GDP growth was 10.9 percent, ranking second across China for the second year in a row.

Mu said that Guizhou will accelerate the integration of big data with real economy, rural revitalization, public services and social governance and will make significant contributions to the development of big data around the world.
