Getu River Geological Park was recently listed as a national geological park by the Ministry of Land and Resources, adding another entry to the list of national-level parks in Southwest China's Guizhou province.

The park, located in Anshun city's Ziyun county, is a popular scenic spot with a vast 70-square-kilometer karst landscape populated by gorgeous forests, caves and lakes.

Possessing a unique combination of grandeur and tranquility, Getu River Geological Park is not only an ideal place for extreme sports lovers to get their adrenaline rushing, but also for common tourists to appreciate some breathtaking views.

Apart from the age-old legends of King Lu of the Miao ethnic group, the park is also home to the deepest silo in China and the most intact, highest ancient canal in the world.

With the new addition, the total number of national geological parks in Guizhou province now stands at 10.
