The Eighth Conference of Zunyi Tourism Industry Development was held in Daozhen Gelao and Miao autonomous county in Zunyi city, Guizhou province on Nov 19.
The event promoted tourism cooperation between Guizhou and Chongqing. Officials of Chongqing and representatives of Chongqing's tourism industry and universities attended the conference.

"Zunyi is adjacent to Chongqing," Wei Shuwang, mayor of Zunyi said during the conference. "It is convenient for the two regions to share resources of tourism, transportation and other aspects."
The tourism alliance between northern Guizhou and southern Chongqing was also launched during the conference. Participants from home and abroad experienced the culture of Gelao ethnic group in Daozhen county.
Daozhen is an ecologically friendly and livable county with 60 percent forest coverage. It is also a great travel destination for beating the summer heat.
Making use of of the unique culture of Gelao ethnic group and natural landscape, tourism industry in Daozhen has witnessed rapid development in recent years.
Data shows that during the first half of the year, the county received 887,000 visitors, gaining tourism income of 834 million yuan ($126.13 million).
